The North Park football team ends the regular season when it takes on Illinois Wesleyan University Saturday afternoon, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. in Bloomington.
North Park will be aiming for its third win this season, and its first against IWU since the 1985 campaign when the Vikings earned a 25-21 victory over the Titans.
NP is coming off its best triumph of the season thus far, a 36-14 win over Carthage College Saturday, Nov. 8 for Senior Day.
Led by 448 yards of total offense, North Park picked up its second-straight win over the Red Men, the first such streak since the 1992-'93 seasons. Freshman wide receiver Devin Childress had four catches for 79 yards, but more importantly caught three touchdown passes in leading the Vikings to their second College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin victory in the last three games. Junior Anthony Burton also had seven catches for 82 yards, and sophomore quarterback T.D. Conway completed 26 of his 42 passes for an even 300 yards.
Illinois Wesleyan enters Saturday's contest looking to snap a four-game losing streak after the Titans fell 13-7 to host Wheaton College Nov. 8. IWU quarterback Jack Warner threw for a touchdown, completing 13 of his 30 passes for 182 yards, but the Titans couldn't overcome a 13-point second quarter from the Thunder. Illinois Wesleyan's lone TD came in the fourth quarter when Warner connected with Andrew Javorka for a three-yard toss, ending a 12-play, 80-yard drive.
