Box Score
No matter where you looked on the field Tuesday night,
Jonas Pettersson was there making a play.
Pettersson tallied a goal and assisted on two others as North Park picked up a solid 3-0 win over visiting Dominican University in non-conference men's soccer action.
The victory snapped a two-game losing skid for the Vikings as NP dominated the game, out-shooting the visitors 17-7, including 8-4 on goal and a total of 20 different Vikings came off the bench in the rout.
Along with Pettersson, junior
Markus Fodstad was equally as impressive as he tallied the final two goals. After Pettersson put away the game-winner in the eighth minute off an assist from senior
Robin Hals, Fodstad created his own fancy footwork and pushed the Vikings' lead to a 2-0 advantage in the 33rd minute. After Marco Alvarez' attempt at the equalizer for DU skied over the crossbar, Fodstad put away his second goal of the season in the bottom center of the goal when Pettersson set him up on a perfect pass.
Not wasting any time in the second half, Fodstad then found the back of the net again, this time receiving a pass from Pettersson after his rebounded shot bounced off the left post in the 62nd minute.
Junior keeper
Wesley Woodley started the match and made four saves before giving way to senior
Alexander Adielsson, who finished out the final 12 minutes.
North Park (3-3-1) returns to action Friday night when it hosts the University of Dubuque at 7 p.m.
