CHICAGO, Ill. -- The North Park University Men's Soccer team continues on in the 2025 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIWO Tournament, traveling to Wheaton for a semifinal round on Wednesday, November 5. The match will take place at Joe Bean Stadium in a sure-to-be high-intesity contest.

North Park enters the contest on the back of a thrilling overtime victory against Carroll University in the quarterfinals. Sophomore midfielder Bastian Eikeland netted the game-winner in the 99th minute, capping off a dominant performance in which the Vikings outshot Carroll 24 to 6. The midfield trio of Nico Chavez, Måns Klint, and Vidar Rydell played a pivotal role in controlling possession and generating chances, combining for eight shots and two assists.

Wheaton, the top seed in the tournament, finished the regular season undefeated in conference play with a record of 7-0-1. The Thunder are led by senior forward Luke Vander Kolk, who ranks among the league's top scorers with 12 goals and 27 points. Midfielders Craig Rusin and Cooper Falling have each tallied seven assists, fueling an offense that averages over two goals per game.

The last meeting between these two teams, a physical one on October 4, saw Wheaton hand North Park its first and only shutout loss of 2025. A corner kick by in the 87th minute broke the scoreless tie. The two teams combined for 32 shots, with North Park doing the heavier lifting with 18.
