Jason Meger joins the 2019 North Park University baseball coaching staff, assisting in the development of the NPU pitching staff.
No stranger to North Park, Meger pitched numerous innings from 2013-2016for current head coach Luke Johnson.
Meger is tied for 9th all time in career wins (15), 21st in winning percentage (51.7%, 15-14), tied for 7th in games started (28), 11th in innings pitched (207), and 19th in strikeouts (109).
Meger’s 2015 team was his most prolific, carrying a 2.42 ERA (20th-best single season ERA in NPU history), 47 strikeouts in 78 innings pitched, and added a save.Â
Most impressively for the 2018 season, Meger surrendered just 5 walks in his 12 appearances.
Meger would go on to earn All-CCIW recognition in 2016, utilizing a league-leading 46.1 innings to earn a record of 3-1 in conference action. He allowed just 5 walks in his 212 batters faced.
Finalizing his career in 2016, Meger posted a 4.61 ERA in his four years as a pitcher, adding 109 total strikeouts and a minuscule 36 walks allowed. He appeared in 48 games, making 28 starts and earned a 15-14 record from 2013-2016.
He currently resides in Chicago, Illinois with his fiancé, Heather.
