DECATUR, Ill. -- The North Park women's tennis team delivered a commanding performance Wednesday afternoon, rolling to a 6-1 victory over Millikin University at Fairview Park Tennis Complex.
The Vikings took control from the outset by sweeping doubles play. The No. 1 duo of Tyra Olsson and Alexandra Pugachova blanked Rachel Combs and Maria Jeres, 6-0, while Isabelle Richter and Katharina Schuler earned a 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles. North Park completed the sweep at No. 3 doubles as Nova Mickelsson and Jessica Dudas battled to a tiebreak win.
North Park carried that momentum into singles competition, winning five of six matches.
Pugachova was dominant at No. 1 singles, cruising to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Combs. Schuler matched that effort at No. 2 singles with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 win over Bella Griffiths.
Dudas added another point for the Vikings at No. 3 singles, defeating Jeres 6-4, 6-3, while Richter earned a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 6 singles.
The most competitive match of the afternoon came at No. 5 singles, where Andromeda Diamantidis rallied after dropping the opening set. Diamantidis claimed the second set 6-4 before securing the match with a 10-5 super tiebreak victory.
Millikin's lone point came at No. 4 singles, where Braxtyn Madison defeated Thea Gifvars in straight sets.

The win improves North Park to 3-3 on the season as the Vikings continue conference play on Friday, heading to Augustana and then Carroll on Sunday.
