JACKSON, Miss. -- North Park fell 15-4 to Mississippi University for Women on Sunday afternoon at Twenty Field. 

The Owls took a 3-0 after a two-run homer in the first inning and a double steal in the third.

North Park's first run-generating effort came in the fourth when senior second baseman Rylan Kawakami launched a solo home run to left. The Vikings followed with productive at-bats in the fifth as senior center fielder Joe Perona and sophomore shortstop Taylor Joseph reached ahead of sophomore first baseman John Greenwood, who punched an RBI single to right-center to keep North Park close.

The Vikings added another run in the sixth after junior third baseman Eli Johnson reached and advanced to third, scoring on an infield RBI single from Perona. Senior left fielder Fabian Cruz added a base hit in the frame as North Park looked to build.

However, MUW posted five-run innings in both the sixth and seventh to put the game out of reach.

Greenwood led North Park this past weekend with five hits in four games while Perona swiped five bases, further closing in on the all-time stolen base record at North Park.

North Park moves to 2-5 on the season and will head to Arsenal BG Ballpark in Sauget, Illinois next Friday, March 6. The Vikings will face 24th-ranked UW-La Crosse at 3:00 PM CT.
