Chicago, Il., -- North Park Women's Basketball hosted the #18 Titans from Illinois Wesleyan in the second of their last four straight home games of the season. The Vikings are coming off a loss to Carthage while IWU is coming off back-to-back wins over Millikin and North Central.
The Vikings came out strong against the 18th ranked team in the country, closing out the first quarter down 14-12. The second quarter saw the Titans take control as they rattled off a 17-point quarter behind 11 first half points from guard Ava Bardic, as their defense forced the Vikings into 20 turnovers and allowed just 6 total points in the frame. North Park went into halftime down 31-18 with Aliesha Peterson leading the way with 5 points and a game-high 8 rebounds.
Wesleyan maintained control and extended their lead in the second half to as many as 42, walking away with the 71-32 victory. After tonight's game the Vikings move to 5-16 on the season and 1-10 in CCIW play, while the Titans win their third straight moving to 16-5 overall and 11-1 in the CCIW. North Park will have a weeks rest before hosting #16 Carroll University next Wednesday, February 11th at 7pm.
