Vuckovic and Vanlandingham earn All-CCIW nods

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The all-conference teams were announced Monday afternoon for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and North Park Men's Basketball saw two names make the list for their performance this season.  Junior guard Mike Vuckovic was named to the All-CCIW 1st Team and senior guard Kolden Vanlandingham made the All-CCIW 2nd Team.  Vuckovic and Vanlandingham led the Vikings in scoring, field goals made, three pointers made, free throws made, and assists this season helping to push the Vikings to a 15-10 season, 8-8 conference record, and the #4 seed in the CCIW playoffs.

Vanlandingham made history this season becoming just the third North Park player in program history to win at least three CCIW Player of the Week nods in a season, joining Jordan Robinson and Juwan Henry as the only players to do so; Vuckovic followed close behind with two POW nominations of his own.  Both Vanlandingham and Vuckovic proved clutch in big moments down the stretch of games, most recently when Vuckovic knocked down two free throws and the end of regulation to give North Park the 81-79 win over Elmhurst on Saturday, February 21st that helped secure their spot in the CCIW playoff.  Vanlandingham hit two game-winning shots the week prior in pivotal back-to-back conference games against Augustana and Wheaton toward the end of the regular season to give North Park two crucial wins in their push to make the playoffs.

Season Conference Averages:

Mike Vuckovic: 19 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 4.6 apg, 1.3 spg, 51% FG, 44.4% 3PT, 77% FT

Kolden Vanlandingham: 17 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 4.1 apg, 1.6 spg, 46.5% FG, 31.3% 3PT, 71% FT

All-CCIW selections are based on a player's conference statistics and both Vuckovic and Vanlandingham's stats were nothing short of impressive as both players started in all 16 conference games this season.  Vuckovic earned his first All-CCIW 1st Team selection of his career after being 4th in points per game (19), 1st in assists per game (4.6), 4th in 3PT percentage (44.4%), 9th in field goal percentage (51%), and tied for 6th in steals per game (1.3).  He set a career high in assists with 12 against Carroll in January and knocked down a career high 7 threes against Millikin in the first week of February.

Vanlandingham earns his third All-CCIW selection with this being his first time on the 2nd Team.  After not playing in the 2024-2025 campaign, Vanlandingham made his return this season and his impact was felt immediately.  He finished the season 8th in points per game (17), 4th in assists (4.1), 12th in rebounding (5.5), and 3rd in steals (1.6).
