ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- North Park Cross Country competed at Augustana's Brissman-Lundeen Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The North Park women placed 14th of 19 while Gunner Silva broke ahead for the NPU men.
Gunner Silva led the charge for the North Park men, placing just outside the top 10 of 263 runners at 11th in the 8k with a time of 26:23.8. Silva has placed within or just outside of the top 10 in each of his three collegiate races in his young career.

Matthew Carey was the next-best finisher for North Park, checking in at 29:30.7 to nearly crack the top half of runners competing in Rock Island.

Anika Izenbart, another underclassmen, did not trail Gandee by much, placing 86th with a time of 26:55.6.

U-Chicago took the top spot for both the men's and women's races. Quincy's Katie Park was the top female finisher (22:42.5) while Zach Sporaa ran unattached as the top time for the men (25:02.2).
