NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- After boasting a 3-to-1 Kills-to-Errors ratio at the Calvin Invite this past weekend, senior outside hitter Ty Ingrao was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Hitter of the Week on Monday afternoon. Ingrao is the third North Park player to earn a weekly honor by the CCIW this season, joining sophomore outside hitter Gerald Malana and fifth-year libero Noah Chanthalangsy, who earned their honors in the first week (Jan. 20).
Ingrao totaled a .338 hitting percentage in three wins for the Vikings last week, including a .421 mark in a sweep of Rockford. Ingrao had 14 kills against Adrian, 15 against St. Norbert, and 10 against Rockford to total 39 in the three-match series. He added three aces against St. Norbert and his four aces against the Regents tied for fourth-best all-time in three-set matches at North Park. Additionally, Ingrao had just one receiving error and added 14 digs, alongside a solo block.
Despite missing the first two matches of the season, Ingrao still leads the Vikings in Kills (119), Aces (16), and Points (142.5).
