NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- For the fourth time this season, junior setter Kendal Britton was recognized as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Setter of the Week as the league announced its weekly honor roll on Monday afternoon. Britton's fourth weekly honor is the most by any player in the CCIW this season and sets a single-season program record for individual honors (4) and team honors (6) for North Park Volleyball.
Britton helped set up the Vikings for a pair of wins across three matches last week, averaging nearly 8 assists per set along the way. The junior from Grand Rapids, Michigan hit .429 in 14 attacks against Wheaton, registering a career high 6 kills and reached 47 assists in the five-set loss. She added a career high 15 digs in a five-set win at U-Chicago and had two separate matches with three service aces.
Britton's 184 assists in league play leads the CCIW while her 9.20 assists per set is slotted third. Britton also has a dozen actions against CCIW competition, the league's second-best mark. She's closing in on 1,300 assists, currently sitting at eighth all-time at NPU with 1,292.
The Vikings (18-7, 2-3 CCIW) move back into CCIW action this Wednesday, October 22, for a match at home against Millikin University (10-10, 3-1 CCIW). First serve in Chicago is set for 7:00 PM CT.
