PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- North Park Women's Volleyball dropped a pair of matches at the UW-Platteville Triangular on Friday. The Vikings lost in five to Simpson College and suffered a straight-sets loss to UW-Platteville.
In the opening match against Simpson, the Vikings had a difficult time putting the Storm away, dropping the match in five sets: 25-22, 11-25, 25-23, 24-26, 10-15. Despite a strong start and a third-set resurgence, North Park couldn't hold off the Storm's late push. Senior outside hitter Shamyia Collier led the Vikings with 14 kills, while senior middle blocker Riana Hayes added 7 kills and 6 blocks. Senior setter Kendal Britton dished out 40 assists and contributed a pair of service aces.
Later in the day, North Park faced a formidable Wisconsin-Platteville squad, who received votes in the AVCA National Top 25 Poll, and fell in straight sets, 22-25, 15-25, 17-25. Junior middle blocker Meg Rothermel paced the Vikings with 8 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Payton Smith and senior outside hitter SaeAuna Reynolds each added 8 and 7 kills, respectively. The Pioneers out-blocked the Vikings 8-2 and North Park suffered a season-low in aces (2), both driven by Britton.

North Park (16-6, 2-2 CCIW) has a week away from competition before jumping back into conference action against Wheaton College (17-5, 1-2 CCIW) on Friday, October 17. First serve at Wheaton's King Arena is set for 7:00 PM CT.
