CHICAGO, Ill. -- North Park's Women's Soccer hosted the Duhawks from Loras College (2-0). From the jump, Loras maintained control of the ball and their stout defense only allowed the Vikings to get off 2 shots while the Duhawks tallied an impressive 13 shots, with 7 of those being on goal. The two teams did have the same amount of corner kicks with two a piece, but neither team were able to capitalize.
Ten minutes into the game a Duhawk midfielder delivered a 30-yard strike to the top right of the goal for the first and only goal of the half. The half ended with Loras up 1-0 over the Vikings.
Not 15 minutes into the second half, the Duhawks added another goal to the total when one of their midfielders made a beautiful leading pass to their forward who took advantage of junior keeper Philemina Toca being a bit too high trying to meet the ball. The rest of the second half was more of the same as the Vikings struggled to find a rhythm and operate offensively in the forward third of the pitch.
The Vikings only got off 1 shot and had 0 corner kicks in the second half as the Duhawks had a staggering 16 shot attempts and 4 corner kicks. Loras won the match 2-0.
