CHICAGO, Ill. – After guiding the North Park Women's Volleyball team to four wins in familiar Puerto Rican territory, junior libero Carolina Aviles and senior outside hitter Adriana Rodriguez were named the respective Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week by the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) on Tuesday afternoon.
Rodriguez totaled 69 kills over the weekend and averaged 4.93 per set with a .269 attacking percentage. She added 14 aces, three blocks, and 53 digs. Through her first three matches of the season, she only had eight errors while totaling double-digit kills in each three-set win.

In the final match of the weekend against Ohio Wesleyan, Rodriguez drove 27 kills and dug out 19 of her opponents' attacks while setting a new career high with 73 attacks of her own. She added five aces against both Buffalo State and Ohio Wesleyan.
Aviles also reached new heights in the Vikings' gritty five-set win over the Bishops. She set a new career high with 34 digs in the match with OWU, totaling 96 over the weekend.

Aviles had 22+ digs in three different matches and added 11 assists over the weekend across just 14 sets. She had three service aces in her last three matches and did not commit any service errors against Ohio Wesleyan.
