NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- After allowing only one goal across three games last week, freshman goalkeeper Ludvig Almborg was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

Almborg, who joined North Park Men's Soccer via Anderstorp, Sweden, picked up his third clean sheet of the season to start a strong week with a 2-0 win over WashU on September 8. That Friday, he picked up another win with a 3-1 victory over Luther, saving four of five shots that made it his way. He concluded a three-game stretch by securing a scoreless draw on Saturday at Wartburg, saving the two shots that he saw.

Almborg has four shutouts to his credit this season and he, and the rest of the Vikings, are yet to suffer a defeat.
