Neborg secures CSC Academic All-American nod

Second All-American honors in a week for Neborg, this time for his academic prowess

AUSTIN, Tex. -- North Park Men's Soccer junior defender Hugo Neborg added another accolade to a decorated third season with the Vikings, earning College Sports Communicators (CSC) Third Team Academic All-American honors on Tuesday morning. He was the only College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) player represented on the prestigious list.

Neborg, a United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American for his outstanding junior season, carried a 3.92 grade-point average through his studies in Finance, while starting in 20 matches for the Vikings. He played a role in 10 Viking shutouts this season, captaining a Viking defense that proved to be one of the best in Division III soccer. He led the team with nine assists, including setting up scores in four of the last five games of the season. Neborg scored twice and put eight shots on target.

Neborg is the first Viking to earn CSC Academic All-American status since Isak Flo was named a first teamer in 2022.
