BELOIT, Wis. -- The North Park's Women's Basketball Team made it back-to-back wins as they took down the Buccaneers of Beloit College, 63-55, on the road Saturday afternoon. The Vikings, now 2-4 on the season, have some momentum continuing their non-conference schedule next week.
It was a tough shooting day for the Vikings from behind the arc but that was made up for with a 36-20 points in the paint advantage, along with North Park getting out in transition with 10 fastbreak points to Beloit's 0. Over the course of the game, the Vikings' biggest lead was 15 points, but the Buccaneers were able to cut it to seven in the 4th.
Sophomore forward Caroline Long led the charge for the Vikings with 20 points on 69% shooting, one point shy of tying her career scoring high. The Viking offense was once again a balanced attack with four other players scoring 7+. Senior forward Evelyn Abundes led both teams in rebounds with 13 and added 9 points. Guards Kathryn Keehn and Aliesha Peterson both scored 9 points each while guard Naomi Kaskavitch pitched in 7 points. Keehn did most of her scoring damage at the free throw line, shooting 7-8 from the stripe but impacted the game in other ways to help the Vikings to victory notching 7 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal and a block.

The Vikings have a couple days rest before hosting the University of Olivet on Wednesday, November 27th at 1pm. A week after that on December 4th, they will take another jump in copetition with No. 10 Illinois Wesleyan at home.
