WHEATON, Ill. -- North Park Women's Basketball came up short in a neutral site contest inside King Arena on Friday night. The Pirates kept their distance in a 77-66 win over the Vikings.

Whitworth scored the bulk of their points in the second and fourth quarters with respective totals of 24 and 22 while North Park was held to just nine in the third. 

The Vikings worked on their game inside the low post, getting to the line for 28 attempts and converting on the free shot 23 times (82.1%). North Park was outscored in the paint 42-28 as the Pirates generated 19 points off turnovers and 15 fastbreak points. JuJu Jeross and Addyson Gallatin led the Pirates with 15 points each.

The top scorer of the night was fifth-year guard Evelyn Abundes, who posted a career high 16 points on 4-of-9 shooting while going 6-6 from the free-throw line. Junior guard Kathryn Keehn pulled down seven rebounds to lead the Vikings while sophomore forward Caroline Long and sophomore guard Aliyah Hershberger both scored in double figures with 15 and 10, respectively.

North Park (0-3) plays another non-conference game inside King Arena tomorrow, Nov. 16, for a neutral contest against Anderson University (1-0). Tipoff will be 3:00 PM CT.
