NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The 2024 North Park Women's Volleyball season came to an end in the CCIW Tournament on Tuesday evening. The fifth-seeded Vikings fell to the fourth-seeded North Central College in straight sets inside Gregory Arena.
The Cardinals held a blocking advantage to subdue the Vikings' attack through most of the match. NCC utilized seven of them, including four by Lauren Benson and three each by Riley Clark and Maddi Barickman. Barickman also added 30 assists in the three-setter.
For the Vikings, senior outside hitters Shamyia Collier and Adriana Rodriguez led the match with 13 kills each. Collier's 13 represented a season high, alongside her top attacking percentage of .407.
Senior middle blocker Rhianna Huebner added a pair of blocks while senior setter Mary Kate Giesen had 25 assists. Senior opposite hitter Kharlie Simeona-French led all players inside Gregory Arena with 18 digs while junior libero Carolina Aviles joined her double-digit performance with a dozen.
North Park concludes the season with a 13-16 record and finished fifth in CCIW play at 4-4. The Cardinals have advanced to the semifinal round of the league's tournament and will face top-seeded Illinois Wesleyan this Thursday, Nov. 14, inside IWU's Shirk Center.
