CHICAGO, Ill. -- The No. 21-ranked North Park Women's Volleyball team ran into a red-hot North Central Cardinal team on Wednesday evening. The Cardinals, who have won nine of their last ten matches, beat the Vikings to win their sixth-straight match of the season, 3-1.
Once again, North Park had trouble minimizing damage. North Central was able to go on multiple scoring runs without the Vikings breaking up the momentum. The Vikings played their best set of the night in the second, leading the match for both teams with 16 kills and just six errors to win, 28-26. Unfortunately, that momentum was lost in the next two sets when the Cardinals earned 25-19 and 25-12 wins.
Senior outside hitter Adriana Rodriguez had the second-most kills of her 2024 season with 24 in the loss to lead both sides while senior middle blocker Rhianna Huebner drove a season high 10 in the match with a .444 hitting percentage. Junior libero Carolina Aviles had three aces and 18 digs while freshman libero Dyanara Knapp Olivera set a new career mark with 10 digs. Senior setter Mary Kate Giesen also established a career high with eight digs.
North Central's Bailey Houlihan and Abbi Barickman both had three blocks, adding three aces each, as well.
