CHICAGO, Ill. -- After guiding their team to a pair of wins last week, freshman midfielder Bastian Eikeland and junior defender Hugo Neborg swept the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Player of the Week awards on Tuesday afternoon. Eikeland was the Offensive representative while Neborg was the top Defensive player.

Eikeland played a role in four of the Vikings' six goals last week, assisting three times while scoring once. His goal against Kalamazoo on September 25 marked three scores in a row for him before he assisted on all three goals in North Park's 3-0 win over Augustana last Saturday. Eikeland leads the Vikings with five goals and 14 points while his four assists tie with teammate Michal Dejworek for the lead.

Neborg, who's played a more aggressive role up front for the Vikings these past few games,  reaped the benefits last week. He scored and assisted in the Vikings' win over Kalamazoo before sending a blistering, 30-yard shot into the back of the net in North Park's conference-opening win over Augustana. He, as well as Eikeland, played a major role in the NPU defense allowing just one goal last week.

The CCIW Men's Soccer weekly award sweep is the first of its kind this season, as Eikeland and Neborg are the first teammates to earn the Offensive and Defensive honors in the same week.
