CHICAGO, IL – The North Park women's basketball team fell to the Wheaton Thunder on Saturday with a final score of 65-46.
A scoreless tie was broken nearly three minutes into the game on a jumper from Elisha Dunlap. The Thunder and Vikings traded baskets back and forth through much of the first before the Thunder took control of this one in the second quarter, outscoring the Vikings 25-7. The Thunder could not miss, shooting 56.3% (9-for-16) from the field and 40% (2-for-5) form deep. The Vikings would not be able to erase this deficit.
The Thunder rattled off shot after shot, scoring 32 points in the paint, 10 off second chances, and 13 off turnovers. 41 of Carthage's points came from two players: Annie Tate (25) and Bella Cabrales (16). Tate had a double-double with 10 rebounds and Cabrales neared a double-double with 8 rebounds.
As for the Vikings, Victoria Perry picked up a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Aliyah Hershberger also with double digits points at 12.

The Vikings will take on 13th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan at home next Wednesday, January 10, at 7:00 pm in the North Park Gymnasium.
