KENOSHA, Wis. -- The North Park women's basketball team fell victim to a sharp shooting Carthage Firebirds team on Wednesday night, 94-59. Carthage shot 54.8% from the field (34-for-62) and 50% from deep (11-for-22).
The Firebirds did just about everything right in this one, scoring 36 points in the paint, 20 off second chances, and 22 off turnovers. 59 of Carthage's points came from two players: Marianna Morrissey (32) and Lauren Knight (27). Knight had 6 threes while Morrissey neared a double-double with 7 rebounds.
A bright spot for North Park was a career high 21 points for freshman forward Caroline Long, including a perfect 7-for-7 at the free-throw line. Long also added 7 rebounds. Senior guard Victoria Perry was the next leading scorer for NPU with 13.

North Park (3-10, 0-4 CCIW) will host Wheaton as part of a men's and women's doubleheader this coming Saturday, Jan. 6, at 2:00 PM.
