CHICAGO, Ill. -- The North Park Football team posted their first shutout conference win since 1992 in dominant fashion, beating the Millikin University Big Blue 38-0. North Park deferred the coin toss, electing to kickoff to start the game. Immediately after the kick return, sophomore defensive back Ben Butler picked off the first play of the game, flipping the field for the Vikings, and setting up what would be a 2-yard touchdown run from junior running back Marcel Love.

Junior linebacker Jaydin Miller made his presence felt the whole game, leading the Vikings in solo tackles (7), sacks (3), tackles for loss (3), and raked in an interception of his own in a career performance.  Ben Butler added a pass breakup to his impressive day, and Egan Bender tallied 4 total tackles.

With Quadrell Hill out, sophomore running back Kalen Riley-Richardson carried a lot of the load, alongside Marcel Love.  Riley-Richardson had 88 yards on the ground on 18 carries and Love had 45 yards on the ground.  5th year receiver Jakob Dreksler, only catching two passes, made the most of his targets by converting them both into touchdowns for a total of 61 yards.  One of those being a 33 yarder tossed by junior quarterback Matt Eck to score just before halftime.

Eck had a tremendous game as well, taking care of the football and throwing for four touchdowns and 268 yards.

In a Swiss-army knife type of role, Marcel Love caught multiple passes, adding to his already-strong ground game. He led the Vikings in receiving yards with 84 yards.  5th year senior AJ Harris, junior Bryan Boyd, and sophomore Jereme Ombogo combined for 138 yards receiving.  Both Boyd and junior tight end Joseph Kalas scored touchdowns in Saturday's game.

The Vikings were 10-19 on third downs and went 3-5 on fourth down attempts, only punting the ball twice in the Homecoming victory.
