KENOSHA, Wis. -- The North Park women's volleyball team enjoyed a pair of sweeping wins in Kenosha on Saturday afternoon over DePauw (25-13, 25-19, 25-23) and Edgewood (25-21, 25-22, 25-21). Senior setter Christina Gatta became the fourth Viking in program history to eclipse 3,000 career assists on Saturday, posting 63 assists between the two matches.
Against DePauw, the Vikings aced the Tigers 12 times while maintaining a .223 hitting percentage. Those 13 aces North Park had a powerful second set, totaling 20 kills and a .333 hitting percentage in 39 attempts.
Gatta led NPU with six aces while sophomore libero Carolina Aviles had three.
North Park was equally formidable in its victory over Edgewood in their second match of the day. Once more, service was a huge factor as the Vikings totaled 13 aces, including four from Aviles. Those 13 aces are good for fifth-best in the NPU record books for a three-set match.
Against the Eagles, junior outside hitter Adriana Rodriguez totaled 14 kills while Gatta had a double-double with 32 assists and 11 digs. Senior defensive specialist Teiya Alagar and Aviles added 11 and 10 digs, respectively.

North Park (9-1, 1-0 CCIW) step back into league play next Wednesday, September 20, for a match at Elmhurst University. First serve in R.A. Faganel Hall is set for 6:00 PM.
