CHICAGO, Ill. – The North Park women's tennis team is off to their best start in program history. After three non-conference wins, the Vikings opened the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) season with a dominant 9-0 win over Elmhurst on Wednesday afternoon.
#2 doubles of Alexandra Ristfeldt and Maddie Starr secured an 8-0 win, as did the #3 doubles team of Katarina Carlberg and Carla Cazes. #1 doubles Hanna Zethraeus and Teodora Kraljevic showed nearly equal performances with an 8-1 win.
Ristfeldt, a reigning CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week, kept her record flawless with 6-3 and 6-3 wins at #3 singles. #1 and #2 singles of Zethraeus and Kraljevic both earned 6-1, 6-0 wins while Carlberg and Starr at #4 and #6 singles secured 6-0 sweeps of their competitors. Cazes, who is 3-0 in singles action this season, rounded things out with 6-1, 6-0 wins at #5 singles.
The four wins in a row is nearing an all-time best and, with one more win, the Vikings would tie the record of five set last season.

North Park (4-0) travels to Rock Island this coming Saturday, September 16, for a match at Augustana (1-0). First serve is set for 3:00 PM at the Lower Campus Courts.
