ELMHURST, Ill. -- The North Park women's soccer team took the quick trip to Elmhurst University on Wednesday, hoping to find their footing in the win column. The Vikings only allowed one shot on goal all night for the Bluejays, but the NPU offense could not reciprocate the effort in a 0-0 draw.
The Vikings dominated time of possession as well as shots and corner kicks throughout the match. Freshman forward Caroline Sjøstedt led the way with four shots, having three on goal and junior midfielder Emily Le took three shots. Overall, the Vikings shot the ball 10 times and totaled four corner kicks in the second half but were unable to capitalize on the multiple scoring opportunities.
Top Performers:
- Campbelle Hunt – one save in the Bluejays' only SOG
- Caroline Sjøstedt – 4 shots, 3 shots on goal
- Emily Le – 3 shots
What's Next?
The next stop for the Vikings is a trip to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville this Sunday, October 8. If North Park can continue to put pressure on opposing defenses and keep their high shot volume, a win is not so far out of reach.
