KENOSHA, Wis. – The North Park women's tennis team is seeking a top three finish for the 2023 fall season after dispatching the Carthage Firebirds, 8-1. The Vikings (5-2 CCIW) are one match behind Wheaton (5-1 CCIW) as the Thunder have two matches left to play.
The Vikings took some time to warm up but, once they did, just about everything went their way. First doubles of Hanna Zethraeus and Teodora Kraljevic took an 8-4 win before second doubles Katarina Carlberg and Alexandra Ristfeldt swept through at 8-0. Third doubles of Carla Cazes and Maddie Starr finalized the doubles rout with an 8-3 win.
Zethraeus, Ristfeldt, Kraljevic, Katarina Carlberg and Cazes all took wins in their singles matches. arlberg showed resolve, battling back after a second-set surge from her Firebird opponent. Coming back from being down 5-4, she won three in a row to close out the match.
In total, Carthage was only able to muster one win in singles against a valiant North Park squad.

North Park (8-2, 5-2 CCIW) concludes its fall season tomorrow, October 11, with a home match against Millikin. A win guarantees a top-three CCIW finish for the Vikings, their highest in program history.
