No. 4 North Park Earns Eighth win in a Row

Wickman with two second half goals

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – After another four-goal game, the North Park men's soccer team opened College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play at Augustana with a shutout win. Saturday's win is the fourth game in which the Vikings have scored four or more goals. The eighth win also marks the best regular season winning streak since the 2017 season.

North Park dominated in the opening half, allowing only a single, off-target shot from the Augustana offense. Meanwhile, the Chicago Vikings fired TWENTY-ONE shots, while reaching double-digit corner kick opportunities at 10.

This effort resulted in a pair of goals for North Park; the first in the 15th minute by Tobias Lunde, off an assist from Barriga and the second in the 40th minute by Isak Flo.

It was Willy Wickman's world in the second half, who scored goals in the 54th and 60th minutes. Andreas Rakket and Frans Dao both set Wickman up for those goals. Wickman also had a goal against the Rock Island Vikings in 2021 on October 30.

In goal, Alfred Swärd tallied four second half saves while earning his fourth clean sheet of the season.

  • 28 shots (22 on goal) for North Park
  • Wickman with two goals, Lunde and Flo add one
  • Fourth clean sheet for Swärd
