ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The North Park women's soccer team opened College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play on the road Saturday afternoon, tying Augustana College 1-1.
The two Viking teams played to a nil-nil tie in the first half, as they held a shots advantage at 7-4 while Augie totaled a pair of corner kicks. Aila Durakovic fired a shot on goal in the 11th minute and Stella Alvstad added another in the 44th, but a scoreless tie remained going into halftime.
North Park broke the tie in the 52nd minute on Agnes Back's third goal of the season, off an assist from Danielle Boudakh. However, Augustana's Maeve Sheridan tallied the neutralizer, and final goal of the game, in the 66th minute.Â
