WAUKESHA, Wis. – The North Park baseball team dropped a Saturday doubleheader to the Carroll Pioneers in a very offense-driven day of baseball.
In game one, the Vikings scored pairs of runs in the third, sixth, and eighth innings to hold a late lead. Bobby Bartlett started the NPU scoring with a sac fly before Justin Swanson singled home Alex DiVito. Swanson later added a two-run homer to center field before Ranko Stevanovic added one of his own in the eight.
However, the Pioneers tacked on two runs in their half of the eighth before slugging back-to-back round trippers in the ninth to walk off with a 7-6 win.
Game two featured 17 hits and 15 runs scored for North Park, but Carroll took advantage of their four home runs driven and 19 free passes to score 19 runs.
Some highlights from game two featured homers from Stevanovic, Logan Peters, and DiVito. Peters also swiped a pair of bases.
