GRINNELL, Iowa – North Park men's basketball utilized 19 players, including 14 that scored, to pick up a dominant 126-95 road win over Grinnell on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings scored the first points of the game and never lost their lead.
North Park opened up its first road game of the season with four straight unanswered layups, including three of the fastbreak variety, to establish an 8-0 lead. The Vikings went to work from there, piling on through a variety of scoring mechanisms, including the first dunk of the season by Adam Bulwa.
Through the first half, North Park generated 25 fast-break points, 36 points in the paint, and 17 points off turnovers.
HALFTIME: North Park 74, Grinnell 48
North Park kept its pace in the second half, going on a 14-5 run to increase the lead to 35 points, 88-53. The Vikings' largest lead grew to 42 points (124-82) with three minutes left to go in the game off a Victor Ekman layup.
Taking advantage of 27 offensive rebounds and a 53.4 field goal percentage (47-88) the Vikings tacked on their first road win, 126-95.
