MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- North Park showed little intimidation against NCAA Division I Central Michigan on Tuesday night, grabbing an early lead before the Chippewas pulled away for an 88-44 exhibition victory at McGuirk Arena.
The Vikings came out firing and built a 12-8 advantage in the opening minutes. Senior guard Mike Vuckovic led the charge with a pair of three-pointers, while senior guard Ki'Juan Stricklin-Davis and junior guard EJ Harris also contributed during the early run. Strong perimeter shooting and solid defensive pressure helped North Park briefly control play against its Division I opponent.
Central Michigan responded by closing the first half on a strong run to take a 32-24 lead into the locker room. The Chippewas gradually widened the margin in the second half, capitalizing on turnovers and converting transition opportunities to secure the exhibition win.
Vuckovic paced the Vikings with 13 points while adding four rebounds and three assists. Senior forward Sergio McClain Jr. and freshman guard Brad Stratton each scored six points, with Stratton connecting on two three-pointers.
Central Michigan was led by Keenan Garner's 15 points and eight rebounds, while Phat Phat Brooks added 14 points and eight rebounds. Jayden Hackett chipped in 10 points for the Chippewas.
