Four Goals in 45 Minutes - Vikings Shutout Pioneers

Fifth time this season where the Vikings have scored four-or-more goals

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The North Park men's soccer team utilized four second half goals to earn a shutout win over Carroll University in their final regular season game on Wednesday night.

The two teams played 45 minutes of scoreless soccer as the Vikings totaled 12 shots in the first half of play.

Despite the "slow" start, North Park made up for it just minutes into the second half.

Angel Barriga cracked the zero in the 50th minute on a PK goal, his fourth score of the season.

Next, in the 67th minute, Noel Holm sent a cross in to Willy Wickman whose extra-effort slide resulted in the second goal for the Vikings.

Vidar Rydell set up the third goal when he bolted up the right side of the field before sending in a shot that was barely saved by the diving Carroll goalkeeper. Deflected off the keeper's hand, Frans Dao took advantage of an open net for his first career goal in the 75th minute.

Only one minute later, the Vikings scored their final goal of the game. Andreas Raaket stole possession from Carroll at midfield before lobbing a perfect pass to Flo, who left-footed a shot into the lower-right corner for a 76th-minute goal.

Quick Hits:

  • Goals for Barriga, Wickman, Dao, and Flo
  • Assists for Holm, Rydell, and Raaket
  • Vikings out-shoot Pioneers 30-10 and 15-5 on-goal
  • Six corner kicks for NPU
  • Five saves for Sebastianas Uribe, who earned his third clean sheet
