NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The fifth-ranked North Park men's soccer team and 23rd-ranked North Central College played to a 2-2 draw at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Cardinals, who entered the match without a loss, marked the first goal of the game in the fourth minute on Jaziel Enriquez' left foot shot to the bottom-right corner of the net.
North Park out-paced the Cardinals' offense through the rest of the half, out-shooting NCC 10-6, but the Cardinals held the 1-0 advantage at halftime.
Christian Vaaland knotted everything up in the 65th minute on a 20-yard free kick but NCC's Aidan Westerberg put the Cardinals ahead just minutes later in the 68th.
When an upset appeared imminent, Tobias Lunde headed the neutralizer in off Hugo Neborg's corner kick. The big-time header would hold as the final score of the game, as the league's top teams would settle for a tie.
