CHICAGO, Ill. – Freshman Adriana Rodriguez was the power cell to the North Park University women's volleyball offense on Friday night, as the Vikings enjoyed another straight sets victory over Illinois Tech.

North Park and IIT played a close first set of the night before the Vikings inched away with a 26-24 win. Both teams competed at a near identical level, as the Scarlet Hawks maintained a .213 hitting percentage with 15 kills (47 total attacks) while the Vikings posted a .250 hitting percentage with 16 kills (44 total attacks).

The next set followed suit of the first, as both teams' offenses dulled to a .111 attacking percentage. North Park would come out on top, though, with a 25-21 win.

In the final set of the night, IIT seemed to be building some late energy as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead. However, IIT's surge would not last long as Rodriguez, Taylor Guy, and Christina Gatta would propel the Vikings to a decisive 25-15 third-set victory.

Quick Hits:

  • Rodriguez led all players with 15 kills and four aces
  • Guy hits .600 with a pair of blocks and six kills
  • 29 assists and three aces for Gatta
  • Vikings finish strong with a .300 attacking percentage in set three
