Chicago, Ill. – The North Park University women's volleyball team has a lot to look forward to next fall after a promising spring season culminated with a 3-1 (25-21, 27-25, 23-25, 26-24) win over Carroll University on Wednesday night.
In set one, Raghen Walker slapped down a kill to make it 19-14 going into the home stretch of the set. A few minutes later, Brilynd Pence finished off the set win capitalizing on a kill of her own to win 25-21. Set two was much tighter as Carroll was able to equal the score a 25-all and force extra points to be needed, but North Park got the next two and a kill from Taylor Guy sent the Vikings up 2-0 with the 27-25 win. The Pioneers took the third set 25-23 and gave NPU all they could handle in the fourth, knotting that one up at 24-24 late. It was Pence that again got the finisher to send North Park to their best conference finish in recent history.
