Chicago, Ill. – The North Park University softball team were on the wrong end of both games with Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon, losing 9-8 and 13-3.
Game 1
The Titans jumped out to a 7-0 lead in game one before the Vikings put on the rally caps in the fifth and sixth innings. In the top of the fifth, Alyssa Aragon grabbed a two-RBI double, and a few batters later it was her, Alyssa Malicki and Erin Penn that had the bases loaded for Emily Reczek who rocketed a shot to center field and get the grand slam. In the sixth, Aragon and Rachael Feazelle grabbed an RBI each to put NPU up 8-7, before the Titans walked it off on a two-RBI triple in the bottom of the seventh.
Game 2
The Titan bats were tough to stop in game two, putting 13 runs past the Vikings. North Park was able to get a couple runs past the Titans in the fourth when Jessie Fix drew a bases loaded walk, and Brooke Belork and Ellie Manderfeld got RBI singles. Malicki, Penn, and Reczek scored those runs. Illinois Wesleyan clinched the game after the fifth inning due to the eight-run rule.
