Rock Island, Ill. – The North Park softball team was stymied on the road at Augustana College Sunday afternoon, losing 11-1 (five innings) and 1-0 at Carver Field.
Augie scored early and often in game one, putting 11 past North Park in only 3.2 innings. The lone offensive highlight came when Emily Reczek rocked a solo shot to centerfield in the top of the fourth in game one. After the top of the fifth, NPU was eight-run ruled to lose game one 11-1. Game two had the runs hard to come by for both sides as Alyssa Malicki was stellar in the circle for game two, allowing only eight hits, and no earned runs. However, when the game went into extras tied at zero, Augustana was able to get an unearned run across shortly after a North Park error. The run would prove to be the difference with Augie winning 1-0.
