CHICAGO & MOLINE, Ill. – The North Park University baseball team was swept by Augustana College in a three-game series this past weekend. North Park dropped their home doubleheader on Saturday (5-4, 17-9) and then a single game at Augustana on Sunday (7-5).
Senior shortstop Jake Reinhardt was a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing weekend for North Park baseball, as the 2019 All-Region pick went 7-for-15 with seven RBIs, two triples, a home run, and four runs scored. Additionally, Reinhardt played perfect defense with four assists.
Senior utility player Ranko Stevanovic had a good three-game offensive showing as well, finishing 7-for-13 with a double and triple. He was a perfect 4-for-4 this afternoon at Augustana.
On the mound for North Park, junior Ethan Sund turned in a double-digit strikeout performance in game one. The All-CCIW right hander worked 6.2 innings and allowed three earned runs in his quality start.
North Park (6-7, 1-7 CCIW) will have a few days away from competition before hosting Illinois Wesleyan University for a pair of games on Friday, April 2. First pitch at Holmgren is set for 1 p.m.
