Viking Men's Basketball Falls to No. 7 Wheaton on the Road

Three Vikings post double-digit point totals

WHEATON, Ill. -- The North Park University men's basketball team put the pressure on No. 7 Wheaton College on the road, but fell, 69-59, on Saturday night.

The Vikings were able to capture an early 10-9 lead, thanks to six points from Toby Marek. However, Wheaton found their pace later on, grabbing a 31-21 lead at halftime.

The Thunder maintained their lead through 10 minutes of the second half, but the Vikings fought their way back. A jumper by Marek, layups by Izaiah Sanders, and jumper by Mike Osborne tied the score at 42 all. Marek went on to put the Vikings ahead, 48-47, on a layup and perfect trip to the free-throw line.

Unfortunately, the Thunder exploded for an 11-1 run, running away with the game 69-59.

FINAL: Wheaton 69, North Park 59
