Box Score ROCKFORD, Ill. – A three-point halftime lead wasn't enough for the North Park men's basketball team, as the fell to Rockford University by a score of 75-68 Thursday night on the road.
A rare Jordan Boyd three got the game started in what was a first half mostly lead by the Regents. With about six minutes left an and-one from Gabe Johnson leveled the score at 24. The sides exchanged some buckets before another three-point play put NPU up by a point. Jonathan Johansson followed that up with a three to make it 32-28 Vikings. The Vikings continued their run to reach a 37-30 lead before Rockford finished the half with four straight.
Halftime: North Park 37, Rockford 34
The hosts forced a 42-all tie with 15 minutes left in the half before surging to a lead that they would not surrender for the rest of the contest. The Regents were phenomenal at the charity stripe down the stretch, going 12-12 from the line in the second half.
