BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The North Park football team struggled on both sides of the ball in a 56-6 loss to Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.
The Titans offense could not be stopped in the early going as they scored a touchdown on their first four drives, including an impressive 13 play, 99-yard drive that took 6:45 off the clock. NPU could not get on the scoreboard until midway through the third quarter when Matt Eck hit Jakob Dreksler from 14 yards out to cap off a 68-yard drive. After the TD, the extra point would be missed to make it 28-6.
Halftime: Illinois Wesleyan 28, North Park 6
Wesleyan was all about the big play in half number two as runs of 91, 63, and 32 yards grabbed three more touchdowns for the hosts in the third. IWU grabbed one more score in the fourth to put the icing on the cake in their impressive 50-point win.
