CHICAGO, Ill. -- The 23rd-ranked North Park University men's soccer team returned to the Holmgren Athletic Complex on a chilly Saturday night to earn a commanding 4-0 win over Illinois Wesleyan University.
Tallying his first goal of the match, junior midfielder Peder Olsen received a quick backwards pass from freshman Niclas Holgersson and fired a shot from 25 yards out, beating the Illinois Wesleyan keeper inside the right post to put the Vikings up 1-0.
Despite ten shots from the NPU offense, the majority of the first half was quiet for both teams. That is, until Olsen was awarded a 27-yard free kick in the 44th minute. With the back of the net on his mind, Olsen sent a screaming shot inside the right post his second goal of the half, extend the North Park lead to 2-0.
