Vikings Make History, Earn 3-2 Win Over Mount Union

ANGOLA, Ind. -- The North Park University men's volleyball team earned their first win in program history on Friday night. The victory arrived at Trine University's "Grow the Game Challenge" with a 3-2 win over The University of Mount Union.

The Vikings won the night's opening set 25-23, powered by an explosive .423 hitting percentage (14 kills, 26 total attempts, 3 errors). The Raiders also attacked at a high clip, marking a .429 hitting percentage (16 kills, 28 total attempts, 4 errors).

North Park's offense did not flourish in the second and third sets of the night, as Mount Union quickly took the corresponding sets 25-20 and 25-22.

However, the Vikings bounced back with their most dominant 25 points of the season.

Carrying a spectacular .500 hitting percentage (6 kills, 10 total attempts, one error), the Vikings put the Raiders on their heels with a 25-14 win.

In the final set of the night, Mount Union stuck with North Park, tying the would-be match point twice before the Vikings earned a 19-17 win.

Final: North Park 3, Mount Union 2 (25-20, 20-25, 22-25, 25-14, 19-17)
