CHICAGO– The tenth-ranked North Park University men's soccer fell to the Millikin University Big Blue 0-3 at the Holmgren Athletic Complex on Saturday night.
The Big Blue commenced the scoring in the first half. At the 13th minute, junior midfielder Trey Knighten, from 30-yards out, scored his sixth goal of the season making the score 1-0 Millikin. Later in the first half, at the 34th minute, sophomore midfielder Dalton Gilbert chipped his first goal of the season over the head of freshman goalkeeper Edin Sabovic, making the score 2-0 Millikin after one half of play.
In the second half, the Big Blue kept the scoring going. At 61st minute, senior midfielder Takunda Jakachira connected on his second goal of the season off a breakaway, growing the Big Blue lead to 3-0.
The Vikings outshot the Big Blue 28 to 7 and 9 to 4 on goal. North Park outshot the Big Blue 14 to 4 in the first half. The Vikings tallied 10 corner kicks and freshman Deni Cresto led the Vikings tallying nine shots including three on goal.
Despite the lopsided shot chart, North Park fell to Millikin by a score of 0-3.
