ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The North Park University men's soccer team posted its fourth shut out of the season, defeating the Augustana Vikings in their College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin opener 4-0 at Thorsen-Lucken Field Saturday evening.  

The Vikings got on the board from the get-go. In the second minute,  Sophomore Peder Olsen connected on his second goal of the year off an assist by freshman Deni Cresto to put the Vikings up 1-0.  About five minutes later, senior defender Ricky Pimentel scored his first goal of the season off assists by Olsen and Jason Gonzalez to go up 2-0.  In the 18th minute, freshman Joachim Hoff tallied his third goal of the season, growing the Viking's lead to 3-0.  In the 37th minute, Pimentel was at it again and scored his second goal of the match off an assist by defender Gustav Leander. 

After the first half of play: North Park 4, Augustana 0

Augustana and North Park went scoreless in the second half as North Park outshot Augustana 12 to 7.  North Park's stout defense allowed Augustana to shoot only one shot on goal.   Pimentel, Olsen, and Cresto led the Vikings of North Park with two shots.  

North Park (6-1) continue their two-match road trip traveling to Dubuque, Iowa to take on the University of Dubuque Spartans on Wednesday, September 26th.
