RIVER FOREST, Ill.– The North Park University men's soccer team picked up their third shutout of the season defeating the Dominican University Stars 2-0 at West Campus Field on Saturday.
The Vikings (4-1) got on the board early in the first half. In the 8th minute, freshman Deni Cresto cashed in his third goal of the season off a chip-shot from 30 yards out. The Vikings led 1-0 after the first half. The Vikings and the Stars were scoreless in the second until the 60th minute when the Stars scored a goal in their own net making the score 2-0 Vikings.

The Vikings outshot the Stars 19 to 3 and 6 to 2 on shots on goal. North Park outshot Dominican 11 to 1 in the second half. Sophomore Peder Olsen led the Vikings connecting on six shots including three on goal. Cresto and Shatil Khoury were close behind with three shots apiece. Freshman goalkeeper Edin Sabovic, making his first start of the season, saved two shots for the Vikings.
Up next, North Park will welcome the Albion Britons to the Holmgren Athletic Complex on Tuesday, September 19, at 7 p.m.
