Hyde Park, Ill. -
The North Park women's volleyball team handily won their first two matches of the season Friday, but fell to the the Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers on Saturday morning.
The spark that was a two match sweep on Friday seemingly carried over to Saturday, as the Vikings jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead over Rose-Hulman in the first set. However, the Fightin' Engineers began to chip away at the NPU lead, tying the set at 9-9. Keeping up with the North Park attack, Rose-Hulman's Bailey MacInnis led the Fightin' Engineers to victory with 14 kills on the match.
North Park's Mia Riccolo and Lauren Wiltsie teamed up for 31 digs, while Kajsa Meyer and Taryn Pohl added 30 assists.
The Vikings (2-1) return to action at home next Tuesday where they will host the University of Chicago at 4:00 p.m. and Concordia University-Chicago at 8:00 p.m.
