Fifteen Threes Power North Park to Win

CHICAGO, IL - Hosting East-West University from the south side of Chicago, the North Park University men's basketball team prepared for their only non-CCIW game of 2018.

The Vikings found themselves ahead early thanks to a game-opening three from Jack Gurvey, followed by a trifecta of shots beyond the arc for Colin Lake.

The Phantoms failed to score for four and a half minutes, finally knocking down a corner three.

Thanks to 11 points in 5 minutes for Colin Lake, the Vikings were dominating 18-7.

Matt Szuba added to the attack with a pair of identical threes from the top-left side of the arc.

The Vikings controlled every aspect of the game, keeping their distance at 32-13.

In one of the best displays of offense this season, Colin Lake totaled 22 points as he went 8-10 from the field and 5-7 beyond the arc.

At halftime: North Park 52, East-West 38.

Getting hot in the second half, Billy Kirby found the bottom of the net three times beyond the arc.

This sharpshooting by Lake and Kirby vaulted the Vikings to a 68-42 lead.

Coming off the bench for the Vikings, Dyron Woods added 8 points in the second half.

North Park cruised the rest of the way, topping the Phantoms 87-71.
